Good Morning Digital Neighbors & Friends! Hello Refugees, Phamily & Triggeratti! Happy Tuesday Early Birds & Dawn Patrol, Later Dayers, Day Walkers, Fascinating People, Conversants, Lurkers and all of you Beautiful Bigots! A post across all of my intentional communities as I say goodbye to Jackson later today. He is still able to walk over to the vet and we will be headed there one last time. The walk back will be heavy, but grateful.
I wanted a small black & white female dog, but I trusted the dog trainer who also worked at a kennel that told me about a dog that would be a perfect fit. He was right. To have a dog I could trust to walk beside me without running into the highway or run off was the greatest of gifts. To have a dog that was so good with people (sorry UPS guys - there were exceptions) and fit in with our church community was a joy. Few dogs were loved by so many, spoiled so much and given more attention and belonging that dogs cherish so much.
I am sure I will be posting more pictures of him from my phone later today over at Padre's. For now I leave you all with this poem and a few pictures of my dog. Jackson was 4 when I adopted him and it was 9 wonderful years of companionship and love.

I DEPEND ON YOU
I depend on you to feed me
substantially each day.
And when I am not sleeping
to know it’s time to play.
I depend on you to pet me
when I nuzzle up your hand.
And accept my sloppy kisses
for the back rubs I demand.
I depend on you to walk with me
several times each day
to limber up our aging bones
that splinter and decay.
I depend on you to squeeze me
quite often ’round my neck
and roughly scratch behind my ears
and give my nose a peck.
But when my happy time is gone
or should you hear me cry . . .
I depend on you to love me most
when it’s time to say goodbye.

No one appreciates the very special genius of your conversation as much as the dog does. - - Christopher Morley
You think dogs will not be in heaven? I tell you they will be there long before any of us. -
Today marks the three hundred and thirtieth birthday of the Frenchman François-Marie Arouet, better known by his nom de plume, Voltaire (1694-1778).
Born into a bourgeois family during the reign of Louis XIV, the “Sun King” (r. 1643-1715), Voltaire suffered tragedy at a young age when his mother died. Never close with his father or brother, Voltaire exhibited a rebellious attitude toward authority from his youth. His brilliant mind was fostered in the care of the Society of Jesus, who introduced him to the joys of literature and theater. Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
