HOW FORTUNATE
I am
to be born
in good health
of kind parents
To do enriching work
To have sufficient food to eat
To feel warm enough in winter
To feel joy that I can share with others
To have healthy children who love me
To have friends I care about who also care about me
To live in this house in this town in this state in this country
at a time on this planet and have so much gratitude for it all.

I like Linda's perspective in the poem. What is on your gratitude list? Some of her items may not be on your list, we all have are varied experiences after all. If you have no items on your lists, how will you ever find joy or even have a brush encounter with it? Your heart was made for joy, but rarely just happens in life, it is born of and from gratitude. My list is fairly long, and it is not because I had a life that was easy or without its challenges or sufferings. Many have had far worse stories than myself, and some have had far better stories of experience. Gratitude flows from awareness of the goodness in my life, that was just their or I made happen. Any way, what or who is on your list? Happy Monday and thanks for being on my list.

Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
