It is if you really want to interact with some of the fine souls you will find and encounter at Rubin Report, Phetasy. Padre's or other Local communities. So many great souls and sadly at times disappointing, there is no escaping broken humanity. This medium is such an imperfect means of personal communication, and yet a surprising springboard for encountering new people both similar and dissimilar than yourself. The bonds of fellowship and potential friendship can form in the most unlikely ways.
That you are roaming around on Locals would seem to indicate that you can live with some of the rough edges of others if they are willing to afford you the same considerations. Many other social sites do not, many are allowed to impose their ideologies while yours are deemed worth of cancelation. Many questions and opinions are deemed worth of condemnation and exile from humanity by the Keepers of Big Tech, the Careerists of Big Government, the Enemedia, Higher Cult-acation, and Wokertainment that were once understood to be within the norm of varied and acceptable morality and civility in recent years. Things that were once thought marginal and beyond the pale are pushed as the new norm. (The sexualization of children and everything is racist are the best examples trending in the news.)
A good dose of common sense and perspective is usually good for the soul. No visitors or supporters to Locals would be surprised that many in the current dominate culture resist and ignore such invitations to common sense and perspective. I am every so hopeful for the red pilling (as in returning to reality as it is, not necessarily becoming Republican or Conservative) of those currently enslaved to Cult-a-cation and Herd-Thinking. It is a slow process of returning to reality and its messiness with all its opinions and variations of attempted understanding.
Imposed unity is not unity, conversion by force is not actual conversation, persuasion by compulsion is not actual persuasion but intimidation with painful consequences. If the road to right-think involves me threatening you in someway, is it really convincing? Well enough rambling, I guess it has been festering a while as I watch something I love become more and more unmoored from its founding and drift into the sewage of wokeness. Letting the mentally & morally ill determine talking points, acceptable norms, the definition of terms ( do they believe words have immutable meanings?) and who can be cancelled is one of the worst things the public has allowed to occur.

Folks,
Judy was moved from the ICU to another ward yesterday. The goal is to keep her comfortable as she passes. I spoke with her current nurse this afternoon. Judy was sleeping comfortably, or taking a "power nap" as she told the staff. Her spirits are significantly improved. She remains in pain, however. She has declined opioids for pain, as well as benzodiazepines for anxiety. The nurse thinks Judy is doing very well under the circumstances. I'll send out an update when I know more. In the meantime, think of all the happy times you shared with my sister.

Good Morning, Digital Neighbors, and Blessed Sunday to one and all!
Sundays are for gratitude, and few things impact our lives more than intentional gratitude. It is not enough to say you are blessed or that you are fortunate; the actual naming of our blessings plants them deep in the heart, transforming us as persons rather than leaving us with the bland “thankful for everything.”
Two years ago, I wrote this reflection on resentment and gratitude. In light of the celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary, I think it’s worth revisiting. We can choose to be among those who are thankful for America or among those who find nothing but fault with it.
You cannot build a future based on resentments of the past. You cannot grow if you are mired in the injuries of yesterday. God and life do not call us to ignore such experiences, but He constantly calls us forward—to be more, to receive more, to live more. Heal those wounds and work through those injuries, but do not be defined by them, and do not try to ...
