Dues to changes @LOCALS this community is no longer a free community if you want to participate. I believe you can lurk about and read things, but you will be unable to post without signing up for $2.00 monthly charge. Since this changed has happened, I want all of you to know that any funds that come as a result of this community will be given to charity. I came here for community - not for profit.
The two charities I want to sponsor at the beginning will be our St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry that services our New Melle Community. The other charity will be the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa's Community) that I visit every Thursday as their confessor. The Sisters run a shelter for homeless women, a soup kitchen and an after school program, in North St. Louis. Additional charities made be added as time passes or community members suggest charities.

Born into a bourgeois family during the reign of Louis XIV, the “Sun King” (r. 1643-1715), Voltaire suffered tragedy at a young age when his mother died. Never close with his father or brother, Voltaire exhibited a rebellious attitude toward authority from his youth. His brilliant mind was fostered in the care of the Society of Jesus, who introduced him to the joys of literature and theater. Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
