You speak to
in the silence,
Your voice in the chinook.
You heal me
in the beauty
of the pine forests.
I am filled
with Your presence
in the gentle fall
of snow on a mountain trail.
Blessed, by the incense of Your flowers
Joy is mine
to see the eagle in flight
feathers curled upward
catching thermals.
Your beneficence
is everywhere, if only
I have the eyes
to see.

Good Morning Digital Neighbors! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all! May Shirley's prayer be true for all of us. To have to eyes to see, the ears to hear, the mind to grasp and the voice to speak, may we cultivate more engagement with reality. Strive to be just a little more aware, a little more alive than the past year. May we catch the subtle movement of the mysterious in our lives, may we be a little more informed without being consumed by the uncontrollable, may we find more laughter at the absurdities of life rather than the stupidity or foolishness of our neighbors. It is a lot to ask for the in the New Year, but I pray it will happen for each of us in whatever degree you desire and in proportion to your striving to make it so. Happy Monday ADD Irregulars, Friends & Refugees, Phamily & Dawn Patrol, Triggeratti, Fascinating People & Merry Bigots and finally all of you Seekers of Sanity & Civility.

Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
