Good Morning Digital Neighbors! It was a virtually sleepless night, too hot with a very low grade fever and these legs braces will take some getting used to. It gave me ample time to pray, ponder, listen to music and audiobooks. There was a fair amount of silent time too to just rest on the edge of slumber. The odd thing about the silence is that your focus begins to shift to all the little things in your room and with your body. It may be a longer day ahead of me, but so be it. Each day holds it owns surprises.
As you might imagine I have had plenty of time to think about the my condition and try to place that before the Lord and his light. That is so easy to say, but it is very hard to do. Right now I am on a slow boat of increased movement and learning how to do my best with the braces as I go about my Frankenstein way. Sitting is a real challenge, your continued prayers are appreciated there especially as I have to navigate the commode in new and exciting ways. Probably too much information for some of you, but for those who know me well enough it is just another look into my warped sense of humor.
After prayer, humor is the greatest gift for keeping my perspective rooted in reality. Being able to laugh at myself and this situation is one of the keys to maintaining a health perspective about my journey back to mobility. I am not even vaguely aware of what the days ahead will hold for me other than more movement and trying to build up strength without overdoing the process. I so appreciate all your prayers, well wishes and genuine concern. I am so blessed by the various communities that bring meaning and laughter into my life. I am ever so thankful of my parish family, especially the daily Mass crowd, great neighbors in New Melle, and all of you ADD Irregulars!

His brilliant mind was fostered in the care of the Society of Jesus, who introduced him to the joys of literature and theater. Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
