Good morning, Digital Neighbors! Happy Thursday to all you fine souls across Locals at Rubin Report, Phetasy, Russell Brand and at Padre’s! I have all my pet names for members of these communities, but in the end most of us were drawn to Locals because of the various Content Creators and the community they collected around them. I came here seeking @DaveRubin after the whole Patreon debacle with Sargon of Akad and then other podcasters who saw the writing on the wall and left the platform. I was thankful that I discovered Phetasy, Scott Adams, Trigonometry and a few other communities I sampled with Russel Brand being the most recently supported. All in all, Locals has been a positive experience of social media which is saying a lot given the history of social media since the days of AOL chat rooms, MySpace and Facebook.
I don’t always begin the day with motivational thoughts, the curmudgeon part of my temperament is tempted to scoff at such things given the current landscape of the culture and the world, but I do begin with prayer and that context gives me a foundation and a future. I know what I believe and I know what I hope for in the immediacy of my life. A few quotes from Roy Bennet to kickstart your Thursday. Enjoy!
Enjoy every step you take. If you're curious, there is always something new to be discovered in the backdrop of your daily life.
Life is about accepting the challenges along the way, choosing to keep moving forward, and savoring the journey.

Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
