Good Morning ADD Irregulars and Crusty Curmudgeons! I will be taking a break from the internet this Lent and this time I am including Locals in the experience. I will be absent from Padre's from March the 5th until April the 19th. I am hoping it is a time for more prayer, reflection and reading. I am sure I will see some current events when I log on to read and send e-mails but I want it to be a solid fast from as much media and technology as possible. Obviously I will still be using my computer and cellphone (hopefully on a need only basis) but I really want to limit the amount of time that glowing screens that fill my days. Time will tell.
I will miss our morning coffee talks, they are part of my daily habits as well as reading the various posts this community shares. I so enjoy our community here. If something urgent happens in anyone's life please call or text me at 314-303-2428. Of course if you just want to talk with me, feel free to do the same. I will be praying for all of you and will miss our daily interactions, but look forward to talking to you all again on the 20th of April as we celebrate the beginning of the Easter Season.

Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
