Dear Friends,
Two weeks in and it has been a very good Lent. I have seen the fringes of news at the like thanks to Substack e-mails so I am not completely brainwashed by the Huffington Post on AOL, but I can imagine how different the actual takes are on some of the issues headlined. I see headlines pass on the phone with updates from YouTube, Twitter or other services I have subscribed too. A few peeks but no lingering, there is plenty of time for that in the day to day outside of Lent. Know you are are missed and loved. My mornings are different for now and more interior. I do look forward to April and our boisterous bunch of questioners and wrestlers with reality.
Peace & love, Padre
Let us pray for a sense of balance and proportion in our daily life,
and for the saving grace of humor.
“Methinks there is in God a well of laughter, very deep.”
God of all strength and harmony,
teach us to find the deep springs of laughter
in generosity and understanding.
Give to us, we pray,
the grace and courage of laughter
that seeks to heal and not to hurt;
that sees the unimportance of trifles
instead of magnifying them;
that gives us a sense of proportion
by helping us to see not ourselves but
Yourself at the center of all things.
Amen.
