Good morning, digital neighbors! Is it Thursday already? Where do these days and weeks go? Too many days just zip by as life moves on. In this week of wisdom, a little prayer for perspective. It may not open the doors to wisdom, but it is a worthwhile knock at them. “More Thee and less Me” is a good starting point for inviting wisdom to find a place in our lives. Blessed Advent & Thursday dear friends across the internet.
O God, who gives us strength, grant us also gentleness.
To those you have endowed with talent, confer too the consoling gift of understanding.
To the perceptive, give the quality of sympathy;
to the righteous, an unerring instinct for mercy;
to the proud, a sense of their own insignificance;
to the arrogant, the white crown of humility.
And to those who feel over-secure amid all man’s achievements, a befitting awareness of life’s transience.
Dear Lord, gather our various strengths and weaknesses and touch them with the radiance of Your love, so that we, sharing each other’s joys and burdens, may walk steadfastly toward the gates of achievement, beyond which lies the heaven of Your creation.
