Good Morning, Digital Neighbors! Happy Tuesday to all you fine souls milling around on Rubin Report, Phetasy, Outspoken, and at Padre’s. Today’s word of the day from The Little Book of Lost Words is quidnunc. I think of Gladys Kravitz from Bewitched when I think of the best TV portrayal of such a person.
I often think that people are gossipy in proportion to the lack of meaning in their life: the less meaningful your life, the more apt you are to gossip or meddle. Probably just an assumption on my part, but the gossipiest people I have witnessed in church circles often seem to be those with too much unscripted time or too few occupations to keep them engaged. What do they say about idle hands being the devil’s workshop? While I don’t recommend being busy for the sake of being busy, I do recommend having your mind focused on something better than your neighbor’s faults. Happy Tuesday, digital neighbors!
