Good Morning Friends & Digital Neighbors! Big day in the parish today! We are processing 42 hogs in preparation for our Autumn Sausage Dinner this Sunday. Dan's Country Meats in town harvested the hogs (42 of them, about 12,000 pounds of pork) yesterday and will send the halves and the heads to us today. Before lunch there is the removal all of the meat from the bodies and the grinding of all of it. After lunch is the making of the sausage in the hall. Tomorrow morning more sausage making and the steam table opens up to remove all the head meat from the heads that will be slow boiling overnight. It is quiet the process and typically takes around 400 volunteers by the time we host our dinner on Sunday. We are prepare to have less volunteers this time around since we have not hosted a dinner since October of 2019. On to the quotes about happiness, fun with words and some beautiful photography from Quebec, Canada! Happy Thursday my friends!
There is only one way to happiness, and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will. - Epictetus, Discourses
We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us really happy is something to be enthusiastic about. - The Smart Set, quoted in 1914
If people only wanted to be happy it would be very easy; but they want to be happier than other people, and this is almost always difficult, because we imagine other people happier than they really are. - Charles de Montesquieu

Thank you @MinaH for the posting by Neil Oliver, scroll down to find it. It is worth the 10 minutes it takes. I offer my feedback on on the issue of trust and forgiveness.
It used to be the thing talked about 20 years ago, do we now embrace it?
Welcome guests and digital neighbors! I hope you enjoy your visits here. May this little spot become a haven for those who want to connect with others away from the toxicity of many sites. Locals is a great experience for me and I hope it is a good experience for you. Any community is only as good as its members, so please see the community "About" section for guidelines as to what I hope will help us enjoy our visits here.😇
Dues to changes @LOCALS this community is no longer a free community if you want to participate. I believe you can lurk about and read things, but you will be unable to post without signing up for $2.00 monthly charge. Since this changed has happened, I want all of you to know that any funds that come as a result of this community will be given to charity. I came here for community - not for profit.
The two charities I want to sponsor at the beginning will be our St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry that services our New Melle Community. The other charity will...
