Good Morning Friends & Digital Neighbors! Big day in the parish today! We are processing 42 hogs in preparation for our Autumn Sausage Dinner this Sunday. Dan's Country Meats in town harvested the hogs (42 of them, about 12,000 pounds of pork) yesterday and will send the halves and the heads to us today. Before lunch there is the removal all of the meat from the bodies and the grinding of all of it. After lunch is the making of the sausage in the hall. Tomorrow morning more sausage making and the steam table opens up to remove all the head meat from the heads that will be slow boiling overnight. It is quiet the process and typically takes around 400 volunteers by the time we host our dinner on Sunday. We are prepare to have less volunteers this time around since we have not hosted a dinner since October of 2019. On to the quotes about happiness, fun with words and some beautiful photography from Quebec, Canada! Happy Thursday my friends!

Born into a bourgeois family during the reign of Louis XIV, the “Sun King” (r. 1643-1715), Voltaire suffered tragedy at a young age when his mother died. Never close with his father or brother, Voltaire exhibited a rebellious attitude toward authority from his youth. His brilliant mind was fostered in the care of the Society of Jesus, who introduced him to the joys of literature and theater. Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
Happy National Autistic Pride Day! Here's hoping you're not too socially awkward to find celebrating with others exhausting. What an odd thing to proud of.
Anyway, here's some terrible memes from which you're cordially invited to choose your (least?) favourite.
