Good Morning Friends & Digital Neighbors! More fun with words! Happy Thursday to all! A bonus word for today as appeasement to any readers, while not technically a drachenfutter, who have lost time reading my divagating posts in the morning. 😉
Divagate - To wander about or meander; to stray from subject, focus or course.
Bonus Word: Drachenfutter - A gift offered as an appeasement to a wife or girl friend upset at her mate (Literally dragon fodder borrowed from German)
Bonus Commentary: Divagate - wasn't that a favorite tactic of all students as we tried to get the teacher off topic? Thankfully some of our teachers in Elsberry were indulgent from time to time with such tactics from the students. It often made for more memorable moments in class than the topic at hand.
Sometimes no amount of gifts can keep one ass from getting lit up by an angry date or spouse. Some dragons cannot be easily appeased. A drachenfutter, a peace offering, a bribe, whatever you call it, is usually meant to atone for the offense or discrepancy. A better offering is not to repeat the offense if it s agreed by all involved parties that the act/word or its absence was offensive. Enough divagating - off to Mother Nature!

Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
