Exulansis n. the tendency to give up trying to talk about an experience because people are unable to relate to it—whether through envy or pity or mere foreignness—which allows it to drift away from the rest of your story, until it feels out of place, almost mythical, wandering restlessly in the fog, no longer even looking for a place to land.*
Latin exulans, exile, wanderer, derived from the Latin name of the Wandering Albatross, diomedea exulans, who spend most of their life in flight, rarely landing, going hours without even flapping their wings. The albatross is a symbol of good luck, a curse, and a burden, and sometimes all three at once. Pronounced “ek-suh-lan-sis.”
Good Morning Digital Neighbors! Happy Wednesday ADD Irregulars, Phamily & Refugees! Rise & Shine Early Birds, Later Dayers, Dawn Patrol & Day Walkers! If you haven't seen the interview, you now know the origin of the former YouTuber TT Exulansic who has an amazing interview on Triggernometry. It is not a feel good video but a very informative one. WELL WORTH THE WATCH if you haven't seen it yet.
For many of us on Locals, the experience of being unable to relate was not an experience that we choose. You often become an exile by questioning or dissenting from the narrative. Voted for the Bad Orange Man, you're Hitler, and so is he. (There is a world of multiplying Hitlers, you may be one and not even know it. The faux-polite people will call you alt-Right which seems to mean ok-Right were the Right that was silent and stayed in its lane.) Question the experiences of racism, sexism or the Trans-constitution, HERETIC!!!!
After 2016 I realized that it takes two to tango and if the others person immediately maligns you are a persona of ill will, culpable of the greatest sins in their own mind, you might as well not bother with continuing the conversation because they are already making plans of ending the relationship. Better to shake the proverbial dust from your feet & move on. Prolonged exposure to such emotional irrationally will only allow the stupid to spread and continue it guise of being "enlightened."
Exsulansis - the tendency to give up trying to talk about an experience because people are unable to relate to it. Don't apply this term to everyone you meet, but develop your own field guide of identification. There are tells a plenty in the vocabulary of the WOKE, the EVERY-WHERE-RACISTS, and the CULTURE-BORGS.
Our culture has not gone woke, but too many have gone silent. Our culture has not gone racist, but honest talk about active bigotry across the spectrum is rarely acknowledged. Our culture is not a unified Borg slowly devouring all opposition and assimilating. We are still individuals within the smoldering remnants of what was once a great experiment in government and society. The fire can still be re-ignited, but the reform to return to something us OLDS vaguely remember as common culture will probably be as painful as any conflict we can imagine.
Not meaning to be a black pill this morning, but better to give your best diagnosis of an ailing patient if you want him or her (there can be only two - with some scientific verifiable genetic anomalies) to recover. You can't improve you health until you see how unwell you have become. Additionally, you cannot change something or someone for the better if you don't love them and have good will towards them. Enough rambling my friends, believe it or not most of us have stories worth hearing, just find the right souls to listen and kindly return the favor. Happy Wednesday!

Today marks the three hundred and thirtieth birthday of the Frenchman François-Marie Arouet, better known by his nom de plume, Voltaire (1694-1778).
Born into a bourgeois family during the reign of Louis XIV, the “Sun King” (r. 1643-1715), Voltaire suffered tragedy at a young age when his mother died. Never close with his father or brother, Voltaire exhibited a rebellious attitude toward authority from his youth. His brilliant mind was fostered in the care of the Society of Jesus, who introduced him to the joys of literature and theater. Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
