Good Morning Digital Neighbors! Happy Saturday ADD Irregulars, Refugees, Phamily & Triggeratti! Hey there WSN-ians, Early Birds, Later Dayers, Dawn Patrol, Day Walkers, Fascinating People, Conversants, Lurkers and Beautiful Bigots!
Of course I have something to say about the events in the news, but I am going to keep most of those hosted on my own hole in the wall At-Padre's rather than inflict them upon the rest of the Local communities I haunt. I do have a few things to babble about the events. I am very please with the the current turn of events and hope for a push back against generational lies and distortions masquerading under the guise of liberty. 🙊
A few prayers and quotes for a Saturday morning seems fitting enough. I hope it is peaceful weekend, but I am not naïve. I pray for people in areas were the angry militants will happily resort to violence as means of political expression. There has not been honest discussion in the public forums of culture about the "mostly peaceful" protests that have happened since the events of Ferguson. Someone tried to kidnap and kill a Supreme Court Justice in the recent days? Did you hear that? 🦗🦗🦗
Off to prayer and other quotes 🌞
O Lord, help us, now and always,
to listen for
the voice of God,
to think fairly,
to love widely,
to witness humbly,
to build bravely.
TOC H PRAYER
who gives men strength
grant them also gentleness.
To those you have endowed with talent
confer, too, the consoling gift of understanding.
To the perceptive give the quality of sympathy;
to the righteous an unerring instinct for mercy;
to the proud a sense of their own insignificance;
to the arrogant the white crown of humility.
And to those who feel over-secure amid all man’s
achievements a befitting awareness of life’s transience.
Dear Lord, gather our various strengths and weaknesses
and touch them with the radiance of your love,
so that men, sharing each others’ joys and burdens,
may walk steadfastly toward the gates of achievement
beyond which lies the heaven of your creation.
MELVILLE HARCOURT, 1909–84
And finally . . .
Slow to suspect—quick to trust,
Slow to condemn—quick to justify,
Slow to offend—quick to defend,
Slow to expose—quick to shield,
Slow to reprimand—quick to forbear.
Slow to belittle—quick to appreciate,
Slow to demand—quick to serve,
Slow to provoke—quick to conciliate,
Slow to hinder—quick to help,
Slow to resent—quick to forgive.
Almost a BHC - language warning for gentle souls
Welcome guests and digital neighbors! I hope you enjoy your visits here. May this little spot become a haven for those who want to connect with others away from the toxicity of many sites. Locals is a great experience for me and I hope it is a good experience for you. Any community is only as good as its members, so please see the community "About" section for guidelines as to what I hope will help us enjoy our visits here.😇
Dues to changes @LOCALS this community is no longer a free community if you want to participate. I believe you can lurk about and read things, but you will be unable to post without signing up for $2.00 monthly charge. Since this changed has happened, I want all of you to know that any funds that come as a result of this community will be given to charity. I came here for community - not for profit.
The two charities I want to sponsor at the beginning will be our St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry that services our New Melle Community. The other charity will...
