Some quotes from our visit with William James, so saddle up my friends for the morning ramble and babble. 😉
Whenever you're in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. That factor is attitude.
Attitude - you entertain what one says or you dismiss it. Once you decide which you are going to do, how much wattage you put into the entertaining or dismissing will really determine if the the relationship grows or withers. Many people in their inability to engage in the dance of discovery and the entertaining of ideas not already embraced will walk an increasingly lonely and potentially darker path. I don't think that means we have to entertain every idea or validate every experience. We do want to recognize what is the good we want to encourage and limit or eliminate the evil that we face. Timing and discernment make that a challenge, but patience and precision (especially in thought and word) can help one more readily recognize the good or evil for what it is. If one doesn't believe that words have meaning, then conversation is pointless.
Attitude - arrogance or conciliation. If you desire to be unquestionably right you will find a cult of like mind drones who will bleat out your arrogant mantras but they will not be capable of moving beyond the repeat until believed mode of living. Arrogance, I know enough, my feelings and my experience are above scrutiny. Conciliation - I have a desire to understand and maintain the relationship without compromising my principles or myself. Sometimes that is not achievable, there are mutually exclusive realities and attitudes, but that ought to be discerned rather than presumed. But conciliation often takes time and actual listening, which is increasingly more challenging, is on the decline. Which brings up to the next quote.
Our view of the world is truly shaped by what we decide to hear.
Hearing is not limited to just audio experience, but whatever we are willing to give time and attention. Best example of recent years is the "Fine people Hoax". If you know what it is, you have listened to more than the Cabal and its mouth pieces. If you don't know what it is, please go back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Born into a bourgeois family during the reign of Louis XIV, the “Sun King” (r. 1643-1715), Voltaire suffered tragedy at a young age when his mother died. Never close with his father or brother, Voltaire exhibited a rebellious attitude toward authority from his youth. His brilliant mind was fostered in the care of the Society of Jesus, who introduced him to the joys of literature and theater. Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
