Lesson #2 - People in Your Neighborhood
Piggybacking on Mr. Rogers invitation to be a neighbor, Sesame Street invited our young people to a greater awareness of all the vocations that contribute to our neighborhoods. Admittedly they tended to be more urban focused, but not entirely. I have included two different segments on SS hosted by Bob. While Bob McGrath was the main host of segment, it was not his exclusive thing. The simple song opened a world to children of all the people they might meet in their neighborhood as well as stirring the ideas of what they might do with their life. That last bit is rather subtle, but vocational awareness is so essential to eventual happiness. Even if you don't discern any kind of vocational awareness, some degree of articulation regarding your talents and skills goes a long way to an integrated and content life. No life will ever be 100% happy but meaningful endeavors make the difficult days worth bearing.
I pray for parents daily, I can't imagine a more challenging vocation than raising children. I can't tell you the right balance of sheltering or involvement with the world. It is so easy to criticize the obvious extremes we see since they often warrant our attention or at least that of the media. Too often the CABAL mocked all of the homeschoolers as people raising a bunch of social misfits and awkward young people. While that might the case in some instances, it is far from the norm. I have met many more gifted children as the result of homeschooling than the opposite. Given the change in education, I think it is often the prudent and loving thing to secure for your children. Public education, of which I am a product of the 70's, is now a interpersonal wasteland in almost all cases. One of the unintended consequences of the 2020 lockdown was a pulling back of the curtain on the new wizards of Oz confusing, abusing and manipulating our children into the madness of current age of psycho-babble and malicious evangelical dysphoria. Imputed dysphoria - I wonder who much of it exist?
Ill equipped parents are little better than dysphoria inducing teachers, but co-ops exists and good parents need to work together for the collective future of their children. Prayers a plenty for all of you homeschooling parents out there, prayers a plenty for all of you teachers trying to teach our children without buying into the madness of the last 10 or 20 years, and prayers a plenty for all of those passively thinking parent who are waking up to how horrible our schools have become as centers of indoctrination in WOKE think. I pray for all the bad teachers too, their firing.
What about Bob and rest of the Sesame Street crew? Here they are. Happy Tuesday Friends & Neighbors! (It must be a Locals things, but if you open up the post to comment you see all eight people that you meet, otherwise just enjoy the fisherman and farmer one with Bob!)

Dues to changes @LOCALS this community is no longer a free community if you want to participate. The two charities I want to sponsor at the beginning will be our St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry that services our New Melle Community. The other charity will...
