Like it or not the full expanse of Christmas music has been released like the mythic Kraken to either bless or assault your ears in anticipation of the Holiday and Holy Day. Sure there were some stations that started playing the songs as soon as Halloween ended, but for the most part the ubiquitous reality of Christmas and Holiday music didn't begin until sometime later in November. I am sure many communities have done this, but I it is fun to see what holiday songs members really enjoy and those that they loathe. How about mentioning one of each? Feel free to include as much commentary as you like or as little.

Born into a bourgeois family during the reign of Louis XIV, the “Sun King” (r. 1643-1715), Voltaire suffered tragedy at a young age when his mother died. Never close with his father or brother, Voltaire exhibited a rebellious attitude toward authority from his youth. His brilliant mind was fostered in the care of the Society of Jesus, who introduced him to the joys of literature and theater. Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
