Experience alone does not create knowledge.
Sad but true. You can ride the unreflective dumbshit wagon your entire life. Life you will provide you many lessons if you seek to move beyond your comfort zone, if you show any interest in things beyond self-interest or awaken curiosity in your searching. If you don't manage that, I doubt that one can learn much from life. That is foundational. Next comes the questioning of one's experience and it is in the questioning, the wrestling with the known and understood and the unknown and dubious that knowledge can begin to grow. Knowledge like science is open to further experience and reflection to update one's current understanding. Pride blinds us to what questioning and experience bring into the doubt by opening the door that my current understanding might be wrong, or at least incomplete. Happy Monday my friends & digital neighbors!
