Good Morning Digital Neighbors! Happy Saturday ADD Irregulars, WSN Curators and all the rest of ya's! Thank you all for making that quote from Karen such a part of my life in these early morning and later day visits via the internet. I so appreciate our Coffee Talks & Speakeasy and all those who post or comment in this community. It makes my visits here all the more enjoyable.
@-Padre's doors opened in 2021 because I wanted a place to chat with Sept, Theresa and Emmie and I am so thankful for how it has grown through the use of Zoom which I was hesitant to use. The audio & visual dimension of our conversations make them all the more personal. Thank you all of the personalism of our conversations, from the serious to the silly, the insightful to the absurd, issues pertinent to the day and things completely irrelevant but very worthwhile in building the bonds of community. So much laughter, so many more things to explore in learning & understanding, so much, "ah ha, see I am not losing my mind because others are seeing this too. . " Thank you all.
A Morning Offering for all of you.
God, my Friend,
this day is yours.
I offer you my acceptance
of whatever you send –
suffering, joy, toil, trouble –
ennobled far beyond my means
because it comes through the greatest gift
you gave me to offer,
Jesus, your Son, our Eucharist.
I pray not to change your mind,
only to understand it,
to yield to it.
But I do ask you to be with me,
especially in….
And I ask your loving watchfulness
for my friend….
Help me find you, through the day,
beneath all your surprising disguises.
Amen.
Yielding - Prayers for those in need of hope. by Fr. William J. O'Malley

Never close with his father or brother, Voltaire exhibited a rebellious attitude toward authority from his youth. His brilliant mind was fostered in the care of the Society of Jesus, who introduced him to the joys of literature and theater. Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
