Good morning, Digital Neighbors!
At Queen of Peace and St. Anthony of Padua this reflection appeared in the most recent bulletin. I thought I would share it with all of you and add some supplementary commentary that didn’t make it into the bulletin. There are constraints of space and consideration of the audience.
More than just eating.
Dear Parishioners,
When I was growing up the nightly dinner was a regular feature of family life. Things have changed since the 1970’s. The family dinner has become more and more rare and its fruits more greatly diminished. I did some searching around the internet for various statistics and observations about our meal times together. These numbers and associated facts are far from gospel, but they do provide some food for thought on the importance of shared meals.
