Good morning, ADD Irregulars, WSN Curators and Curmudgeons milling about on Padre’s, hello again Friends & Refugees, Early Birds & Later Dayers, Conversants and Lurkers at the Rubin Report, hey there Phamily, Misfits and Political Homeless laughing along at Phetasy, and finally all you freethinking souls at Outspoken with Dr. Wolf.
That last group is a happy accident: I thought I was posting in the Phetasy chat thread earlier this week and accidentally posted over at Outspoken. I had been content to be a lurker at Outspoken and read the content without seeking any interaction, but the pleasant and thoughtful engagement encouraged me to post there as well.
After the Christmas season concluded, I decided upon a schedule of sorts to keep these little morning musings and missives fresh and interesting for writer and reader alike. I thought I would rotate between quotes, words, and prayers/meditations, with Sunday being a day of faith and gratitude. We will see how the rotation works. Happy Saturday, digital neighbors, and we have a prayer for the day.
MY VOYAGE
I thought that my voyage
had come to its end at the last limit of my power,
that the path before me was closed,
that provisions were exhausted,
and the time had come
to take shelter in a silent obscurity.
But I find that Your will knows no end in me,
and when old words die out on the tongue,
new melodies break forth from the heart;
and where the old tracks are lost,
new country is revealed with its wonders.

Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
