Imagination - Back to the fun side of the gift. Imaginary worlds no matter where you encounter them they can be a fun place to visit. It can be a world identical to our own with a different host of characters not unlike Tom Sawyer of Huckleberry Finn. It can be the strange world of anthropomorphism with animals sharing in the traits, personalities and habits of humanity. It could be set in a galaxy far far away or boldly going where no man went before! It could be a world filled with elves, dwarves and other races caught in some great conflict. The story of the hero's journey recast & reskinned to speak to that deeper meaning and longing that lingers in the hidden recesses of our hearts. I have enjoyed so many.
I enjoyed visiting them so much it became a springboard for my longest hobby of role-playing games. Since 1981 I have been gaming on & off with a few years off at a time with some good runs at campaigns. My longest friends have been the guys I have gamed with back in those early days. We no longer game, but we reference it often in our own private language of geekery. One of my happiest joys has been cultivating it in others over the years, only helping people meet the Master has mattered more to me than helping awaken the spark of imagination, the love of story and the exploration of self & others that good stories can evoke. Good stories are a fun escape from life, great stories are a surprising encounter with meaning. Happy Wednesday Friends!

His brilliant mind was fostered in the care of the Society of Jesus, who introduced him to the joys of literature and theater. Despite his later criticisms against the Church, Voltaire, throughout his life, fondly recalled his dedicated Jesuit teachers.
Although he spent time as a civil servant in the French embassy to the Hague, Voltaire’s main love was writing—an endeavor where he excelled in various genres, including poetry, which led to his appointment as the royal court poet for King Louis XV. Widely recognized as one of the greatest French writers, and even hyperbolically referred to by ...
